Analysing VE results using Google's powerful suite of data analysis, visualisation and productivity tools
Enroll in Course
This course is designed to show you how to use the powerful suite of free tools in the Google Apps environment. Google has a range of smart data analysis, visualisation and productivity tools available, all of which are completely online. We show how to analyse your VE project data in Google Sheets, Google Data Studio and the Explorer data analysis feature (beta):
- Set-up and run a basic VE model and view results in Vista Pro
- Run a python script to export and format your results into an Excel Workbook
- Add the Excel workbook to your Google Drive account
- Set-up a Google Sheet, import your VE data and specify sharing and editing permissions
- Using Google Sheets to analyse your VE data
- Using the new Explorer feature (beta) in Google Sheets to automate your data analysis and visualisation
- Create and explore geographic data
- An introduction to Google Data Studio
- Getting started with importing data into Google Data Studio and creating your first reports
The power of the G-Suite of online apps is vast and expanding at a rapid rate. Google has released dozens of productivity apps which can assist your data analysis, visualisation, exploration and management of your large project data sets. It is relatively simple to link your live Google Sheet to multiple colleagues and project team members whilst allowing Google Apps to automate a lot of the ‘discovery’ in your data. This is a hugely exciting area for anyone looking to maximise their workflow and get up to speed with a range of new digital tools.
