Model Like a Pro – Specialist Tools Within IESVE
Apply advanced tools in IESVE to deliver clearer insights, stronger compliance, and better performing buildings
This advanced training course brings together specialist IESVE workflows to help you model building performance with greater depth, accuracy, and confidence. Designed for practitioners working on real world projects, it focuses on applying advanced analysis techniques to support informed, defensible design decisions.
One lesson explores tariff analysis using the Tariff Tool and OpenEI, learning how electrical and gas rate structures influence operational energy costs and how to visualise results effectively. Another lesson introduces hybrid ventilation modelling using the Monodraught HVR® Navigator, covering system assignment, dynamic simulation, and performance review within ApacheSim and VistaPro. Thermal comfort analysis is examined for both air conditioned and naturally ventilated buildings, with reference to metrics used by LEED, BREEAM, and WELL. In addition, the course addresses ground coupled heat transfer, comparing traditional steady state methods with the Kiva™ dynamic engine to better understand heat loss, energy use, and overheating risk.
Together, these sessions equip you to deliver more robust, performance led VE analyses.
